Samsung products before and after the launch of iDevices

The 19 lawsuits that Apple filed against Samsung focus on copying the design of iDevices in the Galaxy series and beyond. In the image above we have a small demonstration of how Samsung products looked before and after the launch of iDevices and you can see that the change is major. Although the images presented above highlight the evolution made by Samsung, we must not forget the fact that when there was an iPhone Samsung was already producing terminals that to a certain extent had a design similar to that of the iDevice launched by Apple.

It is true that starting with the Galaxy S there are differences between the iPhone and Samsung terminals they started to get lost, but the Asian company had its periods of innovation when it successfully competed with Nokia. My opinion is that the images above do not really represent the evolution made by Samsung since the appearance of the iPhones and until now, but for tablets it must be recognized that Samsung learned from Apple how such a device should look. No matter how many lawsuits Apple initiates, ultimately everything boils down to one thing: Android vs. iOS and user preferences regarding operating systems.

  1. I'm not a fan of "Samsung", but where there is no competition, monopoly is established, and this is not "healthy"... especially for consumers.

  2. This picture is a joke, those phones are a few years ago and the tablets are the same. Let's not forget that in the meantime technology has evolved, the processors and all the components of a computer have become smaller and for this reason we now have thin tablets and phones and performance. And if they copied a design thing, I don't see what could be so serious. That's the only thing that makes Apple products stand out from the crowd, the design?

  3. Zaone..all of us here are Apple fans...but let's criticize them! I would like to see here the strengths and weaknesses of ipad 2 vs samsung galaxy tab 10.1, apple via icloud.. I think it will copy the android quite a lot!

  4. But the older phones (before the appearance of the iPhone) also resembled each other.
For example, slide, flip or normal phones, all manufacturers manufactured them and stopped suing each other, that is until Apple defends itself and says that they invented the wheel.
The touch screen is not invented by them, I had nokia from 2003 with touch.
Even though I'm an apple fan and I'm waiting with all my heart for ios5 to appear, I don't like the idea of suing for a similar phone.

  5. Apple is already exaggerating...they have a lot to lose in terms of image...my point of view is that they convey some arrogance...or I wonder...can't they manage without samsung???? Zaone…I read all your news lately..mainly about jailbreak…may I ask why you support jailbreak? I would like to see negative points of Apple in your comments... I'm a fan too... but you praise them too much!

  6. One can see from a mail how the design "evolved" at Samsung after the appearance of the iPhone and iPad - they simply copied. We will end up with this way of "competition", like in communism, where everyone has a mobile home, a TV, a refrigerator, etc. they looked about the same. Is that what we want? A world of clones?

  7. Will you say the same when Apple releases a TV? Like Samsung copied Apple? I repeat, I like apple products a lot...but let's write the negative parts too! How do we know that there was no agreement between them? We give you components...you give us design! How about that?

  8. And I for one do not want a site where one can criticize (Apple or others), but to present information and news as objectively as possible, without purely speculative personal opinions or claims without real support. Who wants to swear at Apple, make an Android fan site, or a cheerful imitator fan site, or whatever, don't waste our time trolling!

  9. @Florin: If there was such a deal, Samsung would have presented it a long time ago and it wouldn't have ended up with leaks of Samsung prototypes and sales bans.

  10. It is possible that what you say is true..."brother.. brother, but cheese is for money" f many, but apple depends f a lot on the Asians... let's wait and see what they will bring revolutionary to iphone 5 to be honest, I was disappointed that they delayed the launch (I'm not the only one disappointed by this aspect)! I repeat.. I'm a fan of apple quality.. but judging a little coldly... how do you see iCloud? Is it a copy of google-android?

  11. I ask those who say that I praised Apple in this article to put on a pair of glasses and read it a few more times. On the other hand, do you expect Android to be praised on an iDevices site? I don't really understand this idea. Besides, I don't really understand the objectivity thing either. I wrote as clearly as possible my opinion about the picture and that's it. Whether you like it or not is another matter, but if you read the article you would see how objective I was, but it is easier for some to throw mud.

  12. Zaone...I use iphone...since the advent of 3G...and currently iphone4 without jailbreak! Also valid for ipad! If you are bothered by the comments of those who do not agree with Apple in everything, even though they are passionate about their products... tell me! I read your "news" daily... I really congratulate you for what you do! Just tell me…why do you support jailbreak? Why are you posting all kinds of idiots from Chinese cloners? Why don't you publish tests between Apple and competitors? That's how I see something constructive! Thank you

  13. @Florin: How to make iCloud a copy of Android? One is a set of online services with integrated support in several operating systems (iOS, Mac OS X), the other is an operating system without integrated support for these services. We are comparing apples to pears...

  14. You can see the evolution of copy/paste….this…technology :))
Now, let's not get upset, each company takes a look at the neighbor's fence...
Frustration comes when a company has great success in its niche, and which is then replicated to a certain extent.
This is exactly what happened here, no rocket science...

  15. @Florin: did you read what I wrote? I don't mind anyone's comments as long as they don't accuse me unfairly.
Point 2.jailbreak? What's the matter with him? Learn new things about Android, learn new things about jailbreak.
Point three. Comparisons between products? Bring me Android terminals and we'll do it, I can't buy them from online stores and they're a bit difficult to receive.

  16. You're talking like that, as if there were no Apple tablets and Samsung smartphones, they would still look the same, they wouldn't have evolved, let's be serious!

  17. Zaone...I don't blame you...it bothers me that you are not objective sometimes..let's be serious...LCDs somehow differ between them..ff much apart from the listed brand? Is there any .. round on the market, to be different? Do you claim that Samsung will release a different design for phones? I'm sick of technology like everyone here...I repeat...I read your comments daily..and believe me no matter how "sick" we are of Apple...let's take a look and see what the competition is doing! I guarantee you that they will never have solid arguments to win the case in this "shit" trial! I think that in time...they will have something to lose! It's just about interests..like "two relatives fighting over wealth"! I would like to stop seeing on this blog.. all kinds of bad news.. with iphone5 covers and cases.. and other idiots.. I would prefer you to "mature" this blog from this point of view and comment more ..after its release will be announced! We were all waiting for it! If you "exposed yourself" with this blog... you have to endure criticism too:) not all of us are "yesman" Zaone! Have a good day and continued success

  18. The last part of your comment coincides with what I said in the article and I still don't understand what you want to prove. I have already written this since the morning when the article appeared...? So tell me what you are trying to tell me about this.
Rumors have their point, naturally I will also talk about the iPhone 5 and maybe I will do more even from the first day, but until then we only have the rumours. I have never written several rumors about a product and then forgot about it after the launch. I said before, you don't like rumours, don't read them and wait for other news. I write about everything new, whether it's a jailbreak, rumor, hardware comparison, reports, etc.

  19. la zaone really was a major change before there were only good news app bad news android now little by little it started to be more objective don't bother with it anymore and news with jailb are welcome and I think that there are not a few who even appreciate why they would give up on them, there are a few people here, including kff, what I don't understand is what I said from the beginning and what Calin Ianchis also said and others have also said that the lack of competition leads to a monopoly it automatically leads to bad products for consumers, that is, we have a good day

  20. Not that I'm a Samsung fan, but they already had tablets when Apple "invented" the iPad, literally copying a concept that already existed at the end of the 90s. And yes, competition is beneficial, otherwise we would have had the first iPhone

  21. even if they copied, even if not, since I got sgs 2 I don't need i4 anymore. I know that many fanboys will jump when I see the comment, but it's everyone's choice which phone they buy. I joined the "opponents' boat" because I was fed up with the limitations imposed by Apple. I want an operating system that I can control as I want, without rooting or jailbreaking.

  22. Damn limitations. I don't know what you are looking for on this site then.

You all talk about limitations, some of you are probably not skilled enough to do a jailbreak and install cydia 1001 tweaks that leave Android without limitations in the dust.

  23. I don't understand if you are talking about limitations when there is a jailbreak... probably those who switched to Android did not want to jailbreak... precisely because Android is open-source and by default it is not as limited as iOS... this is also the idea of open-source... iOS it's Apple's software and by default it probably offers it as they consider it to work ideally on an iPhone... yo, if there was no jailbreak on the iPhone, I wouldn't even buy one... I admit that thanks to the jailbreak and installous I chose iOS and iPhone... that's it and the charm of the iPhone... to jailbreak it :))

But what do those with the SGS2 do who spent the money on it and the Xaomi Phone will soon appear which costs 200 euros and has better hardware than the SGS2 and also runs Android? Isn't it a bit of a joke from this point of view to know that you paid 500-600 euros for an SGS2 and a better phone appears for 200 euros?

  24. @bkn yo I haven't synced for a year I think :)) ... I hate iTunes ... there are other ways to put music on your phone ... you can be independent of iTunes if you know and it's very simple (drag and drop even) ... I mean programs that are specially made to drag and drop the music without syncing or I know what other nonsense... and you jailbreak once (you don't do it every day)... and there are a lot of tutorials that make your mouth water …

Without a jailbreak, it's really a disaster... thanks to the jailbreak, I chose the iPhone and the utility it has after you jailbreak it... if some people gave up on the iPhone because they had to jailbreak in favor of Android, they should be healthy... it's their choice... I would never switch to android as long as there is jailbreak and installous :)))

  25. The point is, what do those with SGS2 do when that Xaomi Phone that costs only 200 euros will appear? Yo, if I were the owner of an SGS2, I would have given 500 euros or how much an SGS2 costs, and in 1-2 months a phone would come out for 200 euros with better hardware with Android, I would be a little disappointed... it's like how would I have bought an iPhone and then in 2-3 months a Chinese one would have come out with slightly better hardware and running iOS for only 200 euros... I think I would have sued Apple :))) (just kidding) ... this with Xaomi Phone and SGS2 is happening or will happen because of Android which is open-source and can be used by any company producing phones ... in the end it seems that SGS2 has a slightly inflated price as proof that a phone with better hardware and running the same operating system comes out at a price 60% lower than it...

I'm not saying that the iPhone has the right price because it's not, but at the moment there is no other phone on the market with similar or better hardware and that runs iOS :)) ... When a Chinese phone appeared that ran iOS as well good and 300 euros cheaper, be sure that people will choose that Chinese car :))

Sorry if I repeated myself in 2 posts, but I didn't see one of them :))

  26. Cosmin Razvan - did your plate break? you repeated the same thing in I don't know how many posts.
Those who want Xiaomi will get it, and the others will get a better-known brand phone. Don't worry about those who paid 5-600 for the SGS 2 - they had it half a year before the supposed appearance of Xiaomi. And at the time when it appeared, SGS 2 was even the "coolest" existing phone.
Better ask yourself how others paid 800 or 850 for an iPhone - and especially what they chose for the money they paid.
Maybe Xiaomi, forces the market a little at the beginning, to impose itself. In the end, 200 or so euros, it's just the manufacturing price.
And we haven't reached the release date yet, so we don't know what the real price will be in stores. I can bet that it will be at least 50 euros more expensive than the announced price.

More ontopic - in 2007 Samsung released F700 as it were. Even if it appeared on the market a little after the iPhone, it was designed before the appearance of the iPhone. In fact, they were announced around the same time - January-February 2007.
And it looks a bit like the iPhone - that is, a large touch display and a button below it.
I don't really see what the copying of Apple's design by Samsung is, if they had a similar product at the same time.
I would rather say that the Samsung design has evolved from the F700 through the Omnia, to what the SGS is today.
But of course Apple will try to protect everyone and repeat the lie until people believe they invented the wheel.
There are already enough people who have no idea that there were phones and tablets and technologies before Apple.

  27. Guest, how is it possible that a phone for only 200 euros is better than the SGS2?

I repeated myself that my post had not appeared... and I think it's a phone to take into account, especially because it runs Android, which is open source, and after some time another phone may appear with who knows what hardware, but still cheaper than SGS2...

  28. @Cosmin: I haven't heard of those programs that you can put in with drag-and-drop, to be honest I didn't even look because I thought they didn't exist. and yes, I know that jb is very easy to do, but I don't like to depend on it, and when an update appears, I have to wait for jb to appear for it. (just to make a parenthesis, on android you can install pirated applications without root). as for Xaomi, I wouldn't spend a penny on the product of a company that I found out existed only for a few weeks, I have no guarantee that it will be a good investment.

PS: I also want to know the reason for the deletion of one of my comments

  29. I told you what I think - Xiaomi forces the market.
4 months and with two more until it appears, it's 6 months, so half a year.
MIUI is already functional. Samsung also invested something in the development of Gingerbread - which put it on the SGS2. Then they also put some profit on the price.
We can only be happy that good and cheap Android phones will be produced. The other producers will also reduce the prices a little.
There are still many who prefer "branded" products. And for now, the reliability and quality of Xiaomi products is not a sure thing.
The only ones who have to have problems are Apple, who will lose a huge potential market and won't be able to apply their tactics with lawsuits to stop sales in China.
They tried again and got it in the mill.

  30. sure, if you think that all Chinese have 800 euros to buy an iPhone....
there are enough potential customers who have not yet "lived" the iOS experience and do not identify with Apple - they will buy what is cheaper and better performing - or what has a better price-performance ratio. and this will never be to Apple's advantage.

  31. Guest, those who have money for SGS2, also have money for an iPhone... the idea is that those who wanted to buy a galaxy will choose Xiaomi... those who want an iPhone buy an iPhone because they don't like Android... it's a matter of preference between Android and iOS...

For me, if a phone with at least as powerful hardware and running iOS were to appear at a price of 200 euros from a new company on the market, I would opt for that phone... how does it affect me that it is Xiaomi and behaves just as well ... it remains to be seen how that phone behaves ... and with reference to those programs there are a lot and you become independent of iTunes ... yo I haven't used iTunes for 1 year and I think only for restore/update ... otherwise I manage without it very well... you just have to search on google and you will find it :))

  32. And something else:
    - if you jailbreak, you get rid of the limitations imposed by Apple on iOS thanks to Cydia, where you can find tweaks (for those who always say that iOS is limited);
    – for free applications you have installous at your disposal;
    - the dependence on iTunes can be 0 if you know how to search on Google (for songs, videos there are already applications with the help of which you download directly from the net such as MxTube for clips from YouTube or there is Tanso Download Manager with the help of which you download clips/ mp3 from sites directly like trilulilu);
    - with the release of iOS 5, I don't think I will use iTunes to update anymore because OTA update will appear; maybe it will be necessary for restore;

I don't know what other limitations iOS could have with what I listed above 🙂 ... contradict me if I'm wrong ...

  33. At the risk of misinterpreting my idea, why don't you make, Zaone, a more closed circle based on user and password for those who want to comment on the articles? I think it would take your daily hassles away. It's just an idea and I think it would be useful for you.

As for the madness between Samsung and Apple, none of us have anything to gain from this! Take whatever phone you want, (or tablet) that suits you better and enjoy it! Because it doesn't matter the affinities of those who post whole rows on this site as long as your money is in the middle. Let's hope that we will continue to be amazed by other products regardless of their brand!

    All the best!

  34. Mai Cosmin, what are you doing with a 200 euro phone? Do you really think that a phone like that costs 100 to manufacture and you add 100 more?
Didn't you understand that an iPhone costs Steve about 300? And almost all the phones at that level will cost somewhere between 2-300, but Steve's quality plastic or glass just doesn't make it, 100 difference.
So why is it so hard for you to understand that Xiaomi is dumping, breaking the market.
Maybe he has funds from the Chinese government, or from some rich man interested in capturing the Chinese market.
And do you have the impression that most people get their iPhone because they are in love with iOS? No, they take their iPhone because it's fashionable, to show off, to make an impression, or simply out of stupidity or being steamed by Steve. Most of them are not able to tell what is different between iOS and Android or Windows Phone.

  35. And let me tell you something that you probably don't know.
MIUI is similar to iOS in the graphical interface, only it is much better looking and infinitely more customizable.
So think about what market Xiaomi is hitting.

  36. There are many here on the blog who are apple fans... including Zaone and who have that jailbreak hack... why would you buy an iPhone if you don't accept the conditions set by them? It's your pleasure to promote the idea "I'm a trickster"... the kind of people - I can take a lot for free from the net and put them on my iPhone! Stop promoting the jailbreak to the brothers if you like Apple.. it sounds like hell to be such a "fan"!

  37. guest, how intelligent can you be when you say that most people take their iPhones to grow.... I actually like Android like crazy, but I chose iPhone only because it has a cool shape... nothing else mattered when I chose iPhone :))

I don't understand that you are trying to put iPhone owners in a "bad light" just by the fact that they chose iOS and iPhone over Android and Samsung... it means that iOS has something that attracts millions of users, such as, in my opinion, the UI and the total experience that it offers... yo one, when I got my iPhone I didn't think that it had I don't know what processor or I don't know how many left... the only thing that interested me in terms of hardware was the memory of 16 or 32gb... for the rest, the experience offered by iOS mattered... I had a 3GS for the first time, then I bought an iPhone 4 being delighted with how the 3GS behaved... after the purchase of the iPhone 4... so I don't know how it will be , but your statement that the majority of people buy their iPhone just to get bigger seems a bit silly to me... and you think iPhone users are limited if you also state that they are not able to tell the differences between iOS, Android and Windows Phone... me you make me doubt your logic, but I know you say some things just to be said and to see the reaction of some and others :))

@Florin this is the charm of the iPhone... the jailbreak... for me at least this fact mattered when I bought my iPhone and the fact that you can install free applications... and I think I'm not alone'

  38. Lol, you have a bit of a closed mind there. Jailbreak DOES NOT ATTACK APPLE, jailbreak DOES NOT MEAN PIRACY, jailbreak DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU DON'T LIKE APPLE PRODUCTS. Jailbreak means freedom, the possibility to expand the functionality of your terminal, jailbreak is legal and jailbreak significantly contributes to the increase in sales of iDevices.
Tell them also with Android to stop rooting for freedom, how the hell can you be an Android "fan" if you want root?

  39. Zaone....why doesn't Jobs "legalize" the DC jailbreak as you claim if it would bring him even higher sales? Who "launches" the jailbreak? A hacker....Not to agree with you Zaone...you are seriously wrong! Zaone...jailbreak is not an iPhone upgrade...regardless of the explanations you give me, I am amazed, I repeat, that you support such a thing! Somehow... Does Cydia work on something other than Apple's software? It's an endless and meaningless discussion..anyway, I don't agree with you here..however I would appreciate you for this blog!

  40. It is normal that there are people who do not support the jailbreak. For many, the jailbreak is a way to bring functions to the iPhone that Apple does not implement, but rudimentary phones have. Jailbreak is for many a method of exploiting their own terminals to the maximum. The bad part is that the autonomy decreases and the performances are affected, otherwise the jailbreak mostly brings only good things.

  41. Zaone..ok ..2 days ago I started writing to you because I was "outraged" 🙂 so many news on your blog with those idiocy of iPhone 5 cases, embarrassing news otherwise in my opinion for this blog that issues claims and secondly, because you support a lot of jailbreak:) Good luck!

  42. This jailbreak blog was born and evolved into what it is today. I said it before, I try to cover any kind of news that is interesting for everyone. You don't like some, others don't like others, but ultimately everyone finds something interesting to read here, even if not all articles are to everyone's liking. It is impossible to please everyone.

  43. Okay, now you've cleared me up:) I've been reading you for a few months... the first time I wrote to you about the problem I encountered on the iPad 2 tablet bought in Dubai - IT DOES NOT HAVE FACE TIME, I clarified the problem: for the UAE, Apple completely limits Face Time , there is no solution! I understand you publishing news about jailbreak, but don't give the impression...that this is "normality"! You are the blog administrator! Good luck in the future !

  44. forget that there is something else besides samsung and apple………….and forget that samsung was making phones when apple was playing with p….. in the sand in this field; Samsung made their phones there with 7-8 cameras and xenon flash when Nokia had 2 cameras …………………… and what Samsung did was an adaptation to the market, not a complete copy as you see it ……….and if someone thinks that apple doesn’t copy anything, it means that you really don’t see beyond them……..

  45. Boy, before the iPhone, Samsung made some crappy phones, a lot and stupidly....
Apple has released only 2007 models since 4 and it was enough to make a huge clientele, and Samsung is dealing with dozens of models...
The same would happen with android....it stands out for "a lot"

  46. boy, you've only seen these in Europe…..take a look and see what phones they made there…………they weren't like normal galaxy……and if apple made phones in 2004, they would still have the same made
