The iPhone 5 could be released in mid-October

Sprint is the third largest mobile phone operator in the USA, it does not have a GSM infrastructure like AT&T, but from mid-October it will start selling the iPhone 5 terminal. This is what those from Wall Street Journal which cites sources close to the telephone operator who is currently testing the new device on its own network. According to these sources, Sprint will market the iPhone 5 at the same time as AT&T and Verizon, so if the information provided by the Wall Street Journal is correct, then the official launch of the iPhone 5 should only take place in mid-October.

Sprint Nextel Corp. will begin selling the iPhone 5 in mid-October, people familiar with the matter said, closing a huge hole in the No. 3 US carrier's lineup and giving Apple Inc. another channel for selling its popular phone. The timing, however, indicates Apple's new iPhone will hit the market later than expected and too late to contribute to sales in the company's fiscal fourth quarter, which ends in September. Most observers had expected the device to arrive next month. Top US carrier Verizon Wireless and No. 2 AT&T Inc. will start selling the phone in mid-October as well, two of the people said. Sprint had more than 52 million subscribers at the end of the second quarter, compared with 106 million for Verizon and nearly 99 million for AT&T.

This information contradicts that of last week which announced that AT&T is already preparing the iPhone 5 launch in its centers and Apple would hold the conference in September and launch the device on the market by the end of September or in the first week of October. Considering that the iPhone 5 and iOS 5 presentation conference is fast approaching, we have all kinds of speculations about the release date, but that's good because we know for sure that the iPhone 5 will be released this fall, it remains just to see what it will bring new.
