Steve Wozniac happy for the decision made by Steve Jobs

During last evening Steve Jobs officially announced resignation from the position of CEO held for over a decade at the Apple company. The decision comes after some preliminary preparations and Tim Cook, named successor by Steve Jobs, has already been installed officially and for an indefinite period in the position he has held for more than half a year when Steve Jobs went on medical leave. Although he is no longer the CEO, Steve Jobs still remains on the board of directors of the Apple company and of course he will remain in further involved in everything related to the development of the company.

Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple and a good friend of Steve Jobs, said in an interview for BYTE.com that he is happy for Steve Jobs and for the decision made by him. Wozniac was part of Apple's management for a good period of time and in the interview he specified how demanding a management position is in a company like Apple. He claims that Steve Jobs gave up a lot throughout his career to transform Apple into what it is today, and one of the sacrifices is probably related to his health.

He really had to sacrifice a lot to run Apple. I mean, just your time, everybody wants you day and night, that's what I mean by sacrifices. It takes so much out of anyone to be under just cash pressure and demands like that. Steve needs now to just have some 'Steve time'. He deserves it. You've got to remember. He was surrounded by great, great people at Apple... and those people are still there. I don't think the core Apple culture will change because of (Jobs') leaving, not for a long time. Apple is set up. It just needs to stay financially responsible.

In the continuation of the interview, Wozniac brings up a very interesting aspect: the life of the Apple company after Steve Jobs. Although the former CEO of Apple is without a doubt one of the main reasons why the company works today, we must not forget that he always had smart people around him, people who stood out for their contribution to the development of the company, people who they will surely do everything in their power to keep Apple in the position it occupies now. The company will not change its strategy, it will not change its philosophy because Steve Jobs did not leave but simply left the "steering wheel" in the hands of another driver and he drives directly from behind.
