iOS 5 will contain a system of writing after dictation developed by Nuance

After the release of iOS 5 beta 6, we last talked about the Nuance dictation writing system, but today 9to5mac managed to obtain a confirmation of the implementation of this system in iOS 5, which will be released next month. The function implemented in iOS 5 by Apple is currently being tested by various company engineers, probably together with iPhone 5, and could be available once the operating system is launched. Notice that in the keyboard on the screen there is a button with a microphone, well pressing it opens the writing system after dictation, we have to speak the text and at the end iOS converts all our words into writing.

From the above finding, it appears that on iOS 5's system wide keyboard (or when Apple decides to release this feature), there will be a button to initiate the dictation. This button is referred to the "start" button in the above code snippet. After the start button is clicked, a microphone screen will popover and when the user is done, they can double tap that new microphone view and the speech will be translated into text and the touch keyboard will return. There may or may not be an option for the iOS device's microphone to automatically translate the speech into text when it senses the user has stopped talking.

In theory, the system is announced to be great, but in practice, I think it won't be that useful, even for Americans. Very few systems of this kind are really built correctly and are useful, and for Romanians the system will be as useless as possible.
