iCloud and the Dropbox accessory

In just a few weeks, Apple will officially launch a new online backup system for the data of our iDevices known as iCloud. The system will automatically save device settings, application data, contacts, photos, practically everything related to iOS and everything that would normally be saved by iTunes in the case of a backup. However, iCloud also has a big limitation in the sense that it does not allow us to save files that we can then re-download in our terminals. Other online storage services allow this and have dedicated applications for iDevices, but Apple thought that we don't need such a thing.

In this situation, it is hard for me to believe that services like Dropbox will be forgotten because they are really useful for all owners of mobile terminals. Dropbox, for example, allows us to save any kind of files on the company's servers, files that can then be downloaded to our terminals or to any other computer, regardless of whether or not they can be opened on an iDevice. iCloud is only limited to what can be opened on an iDevice and this will be a big problem for those who will need more.

I for one see Dropbox as the ideal solution to save anything anywhere at any time and iCloud will be a good way to get rid of iTunes. iCloud will be used by everyone and Dropbox will remain an indispensable accessory for those who need a platform that allows them to access all important files whenever they need.
