Twitter integrated and ready for iOS 5 launch

This year Apple took the decision to take a big step forward and integrate support for the Twitter social network into its own operating system. Unfortunately, the integration is only limited to a login system for Twitter and only to a menu that allows sharing pictures and links on the famous social network, at least that's what we saw in the beta versions of iOS 5. The management of the Twitter company is of course enchanted of the collaboration with Apple and announces that the entire system is 100% integrated in the new iOS and the company's infrastructure is prepared to deal with a large number of new users.

During the last nine months, there's been more infrastructure changes at Twitter than there had been in the previous five years at the company," said Abbott, who joined Twitter in May 2010. "So that whether it be the death of bin Laden, or someone announces a pregnancy, we can handle those issues and you're not seeing a fail whale.

I, for one, would have preferred Apple to integrate Facebook into its new operating system because we are talking about a much more popular social network with many more users and a much more complex system. I think that this integration would have been much more beneficial for the company from Cupertino, but in the end the differences between the 2 companies led to a rift that probably won't be fixed too soon. In conclusion, Twitter is grateful for iOS 5 and the company is waiting for the release of the operating system to present developers with ways to integrate the new APIs into applications.
