This week I told you that Apple plans to withdraw from the sale the iPod Classic model due to poor sales and it all starts with Removing references to it from the App Store. Until today in the App Store users had the possibility to install games for the click wheel of their own iPod, but Apple decided to remove the link to the respective games from the App Store. Virtually anyone who now wants to download a game for the iPod Classic can no longer do so, and this could be the first sign of the old product being discontinued.
The games for the old product were sold at quite high prices, but only 50 were available in total, but as of today, none are listed. Considering the rumors that appeared last week, it is quite clear that Apple intends to remove the old product from sale and will probably focus on the other models that are still selling quite well. For Apple this would be the end of a decade of iPod Classic, but the iPhone and the iPad tablet have been much more important for the company from Cupertino for several years.
