Video: GhostGuitar turns the iPad into a virtual guitar

The iPad 2 tablet came with the new front camera implemented in the iPhone 4/iPod Touch 4G, all with the idea of giving users the opportunity to make FaceTime calls with the rest of Apple's devices. However, Apple gave developers the opportunity to use the front camera for applications as well, so the application in the clip above was born. There we have a demonstration for GhostGuitar, an application dedicated to the iPad tablet that allows us to "sing" a virtual guitar using the front camera of the iPad tablet.

Practically, a virtual guitar is displayed on the tablet screen and the front camera takes images of our position vis-a-vis the guitar and with the help of special algorithms the movements of our hands are interpreted as movements made on the strings of a guitar. The idea behind the application is great and everything seems to work without problems for now, but the sounds produced by the tablet depend on everyone's skill. The application comes with several guitar models so you can choose the one that suits you.

GhostGuitar is available in the App Store for €1.59.
