The launch of the iPhone 4S in England attracts a record number of customers

Today the iPhone 4S was also launched in England and at the Regent Street store of the Apple company there was a record number of users in line for the launch of an Apple product. More precisely, in the queue there were 778 people interested in purchasing an iPhone 4S, the number being higher than last year when the iPhone 4 was launched, but also than the one registered at the launch of the iPad 2. Most of those who were there either had missed the opportunity to make a pre-order or they thought they could only buy the device from the Apple store, so probably the queue would have been shorter if deliveries had been made faster for online orders.

Analysis of the data, comparing against previous Regent St exit polls on the iPhone 4, iPad and iPad 2 launches, shows that the crowd of 778 people for the iPhone 4S comfortably beats the previous record holder of 668 for the original iPhone 4; 662 for the iPad 2; and 451 for the original iPad.

The information was presented by a British company, who conducted opinion polls among the users of that store.
