redsn0w 0.9.9 beta 6 DOES NOT fix GPS issues for iPhone 3GS with iPad baseband

Today Dev Team has launched a new version of redsn0w that solves some problems with the GPS and the GSM function of iPhone 3GS terminals and some of you have come to the conclusion that this version of redsn0w would solve the problems with the iPad GPS and baseband. As you well know, last year the Dev Team launched a pseudo unlock solution that involves the installation of an iPad baseband on the iPhone 3G/3GS. Unfortunately, this "trick" found by the Dev Team led to the impossibility of using the GPS integrated in the iPhone terminals, and some of you believe that the latest version of redsn0w solves this problem.

Well, unfortunately things are not like that, redsn0w doesn't solve anything and MuscleNerd's words in the picture above confirm this. He was asked if the problem with the GPS was solved for those with iPhone 3GS and baseband 06.15.00 of the iPad and his answer indicates that it is not. He says that that baseband has the aGPS function that basically locates a terminal using an internet connection and NOT the GPS itself. This function is used on iPad Wi-Fi, for example, to do the location in the Maps application but the coordinates are displayed based on the triangulation of the location using the telephone towers.

Unfortunately, the Dev Team has not yet released a solution to solve the GPS problem for those who have iPad baseband, so you will have to wait. Although some say that the new version of redsn0w fixes the GPS issues, the Dev Team does NOT specify this on their blog, and neither does MuscleNerd. If you have an iPhone 3GS with iPad baseband and the GPS problem has been solved, please leave a comment.
