Apple is working on a system that would allow the union of Apple IDs according to Tim Cook

A few weeks ago was discussed the problem of the new iCloud but also of users who now have several Apple IDs. Practically some users of the MobileMe service now have 2 Apple IDs that they use, both containing separate information, information that unfortunately cannot be combined in the phone. Then Tim Cook said that Apple is working on a method by which Apple IDs could be joined, but for now this method has not been launched, although iCloud is now available to the general public. Well, even if we don't have anything now, Tim Cook promises that in the near future Apple will also solve the problem of merging Apple IDs, the information coming from a resident of the state of Luxembourg who spoke on the phone with the CEO of Apple.

Henrique [Xavier] pointed out that with the recent launch of iCloud and iOS 5 upgrade software on October 12, everyone has at least 2 Apple ID's, one before Apple's "MobileMe" was launched, and one after. "Now, people have a library that has been split in half and we can't take advantage of the new features of iOS 5" he stated.

Tim Cook's response was swift, and telephoning Henrique in Luxembourg directly from Apple HQ in Cupertino explained, "Thank you very much for your email, and I just want you to know we are aware of this issue and are working on it".

The union of Apple IDs would lead to the possibility of downloading applications from any App Store if you have accounts in several countries, and this method would greatly simplify users' lives. iCloud could be used from different accounts but sharing the same information, so another plus for families in which there are several owners of iDevices. The big problem is that from the promise to the final result, a very long period of time will pass and such a change coming from the Apple company could require the release of a new version of iOS.
