Moreover, Siri would work with Apple's servers, meaning it would be able to recognize the words spoken by the user and would be able to execute them. Basically the rumor says that Siri can be ported 100% functionally to any iDevice compatible with iOS 5 even without jailbreaking and this is basically the big problem behind the information.
To implement Siri, you need access to the system files of the iDevices, and without a jailbreak this is quite difficult to achieve. I for one recommend you not to get your hopes up too high that Siri will be ported to iDevices without jailbreak, because the character who claims to have done this is only now coming to everyone's attention, so the chances of him telling the truth are quite small.
