iOS 5.0.1: problems with autonomy, GSM signal, Wi-Fi signal and microphone

   iOS 5.0.1 has been available in iTunes since last week and I have already "reviewed" the problems with GSM signal reception, with 3G Internet, autonomy and the Wi-Fi signal that fluctuates but some users reports problems with the microphone of their own devices. It seems that for some users the microphone does not work when they open a call so that their interlocutor hears absolutely nothing of what the iDevice owners say. The same problem is encountered in the case of certain applications that do not recognize what the users recite in the device's microphone and the problem is solved only with a restart.

   Unfortunately iOS 5.0.1 brings many more problems for iDevice owners and I for one believe that iOS 5.0.2 is already in the works at Apple and will be released in iTunes as soon as possible to solve all the reported problems so far.

  1. Personally, I haven't had any kind of problem so far, apart from the battery autonomy, which I can now say has improved. I have 5.0.1 on i4 and ipad 2 and both work fine 😀

  2. I am of the opinion that Apple is in decline since Jobs died. Ios 5 or 5.0.1 works very, very badly on the iPad 1. Safari crashes several times a day, lags enormously, it works worse than an iPhone 3g with 3.1.3, and how many other problems will there be and I haven't noticed them . If these problems are not solved in the next updates, I will sell the iPad, because I see that those from Apple really intend to make it unusable, and I will probably go to the opposite camp, although I never thought I would ever say that something…

  3. Hello. Ip4s from cosmote. The same problem with the microphone when receiving a call, the interlocutor does not hear me for 2,3 seconds. For now, that's all I've noticed. I have had it for 5 hours. Respect.

  5. I can no longer read comments like "apple is in decline since...". I have an i4 and it has always worked well for me, with any software, including the present one. I don't have JB. Little patience. It is not the first nor the last time when there were problems. Tomorrow you comment that apple goes bankrupt.

  6. The problem with the sim, the network drops, invalid, searching samd... I see from the Apple forum that the phenomenon happens all over the world... I'm going to go to Vodafone today, although I don't think they'll be of any help... I wouldn't want to nor should I send it for repair for 15 days and in 2 days an update will appear that will solve the problem.. What do you think?

  11. It's strange, at first with the 5.0.1 update it went bad, it kept me charged for about 6-8 hours, then it restarted out of nowhere! I don't know what to say, I seem to have doubts after I ordered a 4s because I was in a hurry, but on my iphone4 with 5.01 I now have 4h22min usage, 1day, 19hours standby and 40% battery... and it works fine, anyway, the network also has a big influence, with the same phone on another network...I didn't have 24 hours standby.

I can confirm that IOS 5.0.1 works flawlessly on the ipad 1, so it's incredible how badly it works and Safari moves flawlessly, I feel like breaking it on my knees, especially since I can't go back to another version that I didn't have never jailbreak on ipad, it must remain as infected as it is, on 4.3.5 it worked perfectly.   16. Yes, since I installed 5.0.1 I have enabled multitouch. But the problems appeared from ios 5.0, that is, it has nothing to do with multitouch. I installed 5.0, set as new... without restoring to back-up. It's very slow, it comes out of my applications, the effects when you open or close an application go jerky... it's all rubbish

  17. On ipad 1 wifi with ios5+multitouch gesture activated it works perfectly and it doesn't seem to jerk at all when I use mutegestures...

  18. Install iOS 5.0.1 from iTunes as a new device, i.e. without restoring its settings and it will work as usual.
    That's how it worked for me. Guaranteed!

  20. Iphone 4 ios 4.3, tomorrow my option expires on the cosmote card which sounds like this, 1000 network min, 1000 network sms, 70 national and int min, 70 nat and int sms plus 1g of data traffic.
    Yesterday at 12 o'clock I still had 438 mb. I want to mention that I don't have push notification, no location, I don't even have any application in the background, today I get in the car, turn on the radio, and put the phone on a mini glove box next to radio when I hear that jamming as if someone is calling me, I wait for it to call and nothing happens, I could still hear the noise, and I say, surely I have some application open that connects to the net.
    I open the phone looking for the respective application and surprise, there was none, not even in the background. I check my data option, and surprise, what do you see, I only had 18mb out of 400 or something, where did the 400 disappear?

  21. Unfortunately, everything you mentioned above happened all day today with my iPhone4S phone and I had IOS 5.0, I called orange to see if they had problems with 3G and...stunner, they couldn't hear me well.
    I made several calls to various friends and they were complaining about the same problem as mine.
    2 hours ago I updated to IOS 5.0.1 and... the problems disappeared.
    Is it only from the restart or... am I the only one lucky enough to have my phone working correctly at the moment???

    iP4 32GB no problem – OTA update. 40% increase in autonomy.
    None have ever had JB. I don't understand where the problems you accuse come from.

  23. I have iphone 4 with 5.0.1 OTA from 5.0. Everything is going perfectly, I didn't have any of the mentioned problems. It uses 3 hours and a quarter, stand by 13 hours and I still have 52%. I have had the phone since September 2010 and it works like the first day.

  24. I updated to 5.0.1 from ... boredom I think. I have two problems: the battery and for messages I can't hide the content from the settings/messages/show subject field. I put it on/off and nothing. I receive messages and the content is visible. Should I go to vodafone for warranty? Any advice? Thank you for existing...

  25. on ip4s I encountered all the problems at 5.0.1, less with the autonomy of the battery, which is quite good....the signal drops randomly, the interlocutor of no color hears me for 3 seconds. I hope to fix the problem as soon as possible because it is already getting annoying

  29. I bought a 4s from Vodafone on Thursday evening. All good and beautiful until Friday morning when I woke up with an invalid sim. After 2 unsuccessful restarts it finally took off, but in 2 hours I had the same message... I went to Voda and changed simul. All good.. for a few more hours.
    I left it with disabled sim and went with it to the store where I got it. After long arguments, they changed it for me on the spot. To understand that it was only software? :)))

  30. George...I have a 4s bought from orange and my wi-fi doesn't work...and I'm waiting for it to be replaced tomorrow. it has nothing to do with the software, just that we were sent a bunch of phones with problems

  31. For all those who have problems with iOS 5 on iPad 1:

    It's a problem with iCloud, especially for documents. If you close iCloud synchronization, it will go much much better.

  37. I have ios 5.0.1 on iphone 4s and I can say that I have no such problem...

    The battery lasts me: 2 days if I talk regularly a day (without playing) or 1 day if I use it on the net or for games.

    I can say that I am satisfied.

Let's send back their phones and give them a 3-month vacation to think better about what they're doing. in the meantime we still have to use phones and not stay with them through service. in addition, a personal experience with another device for a longer period of time is not at all contraindicated.
