Unlocking without jailbreak takes only a few seconds in certain cases

A few days ago I presented you with a solution to unlock any iPhone without jailbreaking the device. I told you then that the solution is temporary, working only until the iPhone modifies its TMSI, a network identifier. Some say that they managed to unlock some terminals and that it took them a few hours, for others the unlocking only takes a few seconds, so everything is a game of chance. MuscleNerd reiterates today on Twitter the idea that the unlock solution is temporary, but unfortunately the Dev Team does not have a permanent solution for decoding at the moment.

This solution was "discovered" by a hacker who has nothing to do with the Dev Team but is related to the jailbreak world, but even so after its publication it was severely criticized including by MuscleNerd. For many such a tethered unlock solution could prove extremely useful even if the process has to be repeated when resetting the device, but for MuscleNerd the solution is useless. You can't damage your terminals if you try, you might be able to decode an iPhone, you might not be able to decode it, but it's worth trying regardless of the situation.
