In a discussion held today on Twitter, MuscleNerd confirmed that the baseband in iOS 5.x can be unlocked at the moment, but of course the solution is not public. He refers to an iOS 5 baseband for the iPhone 4 terminal and as you can see from the picture above, he confirms that an unlock solution exists. The strange thing is that he claims that that baseband does not exist on iPhone 4 in iOS 5, but in the Settings menu of the operating system that value is listed next to the modem firmware entry.
Basically, we now know that the Dev Team has a method to decode the basebands in the new iOS 5, but the big question is... when exactly will the team decide to launch it? I assume that after the official release of iOS 5.1 we will see it.
