Video: Siri used to open Mac applications, control iTunes and start a computer

I told you yesterday how much Siri has evolved thanks to the proxy hack now available to everyone and today we learn about a few other things that the personal assistant in iOS 5 can do without too much trouble. Using that proxy hack a user managed to use Siri to control the Google Voice application but also to use the Wake on Lan function of a computer to turn it on. That's not all, because using Siri, the user manages to open applications on the Mac and control the iTunes application, and everything is done extremely simply, as you can see in the video clip above.

Of course, practical applications in the real world do not really exist for everything we see in the clip and the Mac can do these things by itself, but we have in front of us a new proof of the fact that Siri is extremely "potent" if it is used properly. Apple has never mentioned these hidden functions of Siri because everything is done by replicating the Apple server that takes Siri commands, so the company could never offer such a thing to its users. Even so, I for one am extremely impressed by what Siri can do and only here can you see the difference between Apple's system and other similar systems.
