Siri is not a fan of contraceptive methods

Yesterday it appeared on the Internet a story which presented Siri as a system that opposes contraceptive methods because it does not show on American maps the clinics where abortion can be performed. All those who sought such clinics received completely different results than the desired ones and Apple was accused of being against contraceptive methods. Well the company he answered public accusations and admitted that Siri is not a fan of contraception methods but that the implementation of this algorithm was not intentional.

Our customers want to use Siri to find out all types of information, and while it can find a lot, it doesn't always find what you want," said Natalie Kerris, a spokeswoman for Apple, in a phone interview late Wednesday. "These are not intentional omissions meant to offend anyone. It simply means that as we bring Siri from beta to a final product, we find places where we can do better, and we will in the coming weeks.

Apple will solve the problem, but in the meantime, people who want to have an abortion are directed to centers where there are groups that could convince them to give up the abortion. Of course, all this information is provided by the Yelp service that Apple uses to provide tutors with information about locations, so it is not the fault of the company from Cupertino. The problem only affects Americans considering that they are the only ones who benefit from the possibility of searching for information on the map using Siri.
