Since the middle of 2011, Orange was the first mobile phone operator in Romania to announce that it will start developing a 4G LTE network, which should theoretically be ready for launch next year. For now, the network is in tests and those from Pro TV had the opportunity to test it in the middle of Floreasca lake. George Buhnici is freezing in a boat in the middle of the lake and tries to make an HD transmission using, apparently, the 4G LTE network of Orange Romania and you can see the result in the video clip above. According to those from Pro TV, the download/browsing speed on the Internet should be somewhere around 80 Mbps, but only with a USB stick.

Mobile phones already have compatibility with this type of network, but iDevices do not have it, although Apple seems to be interested in implementing it. According to the president of ANCOM, we will only have access to the new technology in 2013, so Apple has enough time to implement it in its terminals before we can actually use it in Romania.
