TinyCFW helps you make a custom ipsw for iPad 2 or iPhone 4

Tonight the developer of the TinyUmbrella application for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux launched another program called TinyCFW. This program ONLY works with iPhone 4 and iPad 2 and its purpose is to allow users to restore to any version of iOS without getting error 1015. You can restore to any version of iOS but ONLY if you have SHSH saved for that version of iOS otherwise the program is useless for you. TinyCFW does NOT keep the baseband intact, so when you restore, update the baseband, if necessary. Baseband downgrade is impossible on iPad 2 and iPhone 4.

Here are the main functions of TinyCFW:

  • It will modify an existing ipsw for an ipad2 gsm/cdma or iphone4 gsm/cdma
  • It WILL modify the ipsw TO UPDATE YOUR BASEBAND TO THE LATEST!
  • It will create an ipsw that you can use with TinyUmbrella AND iTunes to restore to a version of iOS that you have SHSHs for.
  • It is primarily for iPad2 with a baseband OR iPhone 4.

The program was made especially for those who have iPad 2 and SHSH saved for 4.3.3 because they can now update to iOS 5 and use SHSH to return to iOS 4.3.3. For now the program is available in beta version, I don't recommend you to use it yet because it is useless for many of you anyway. TinyCFW can be downloaded from here.
