LightPad is an accessory for smartphones that allows users to transpose the images from the screen of their own device onto those of a special dock. If you look at the video clip above, you will notice that the images displayed on the screen of that accessory also appear on your smartphone. We are talking about an 11-inch screen with a resolution of 854×480 that, with the help of a pico-projector, displays images taken from the screen of your device. Basically, the technology is similar to the HDMI mirroring implemented by Apple in iOS 4.3 and yes, an iPhone can be used with this dock.

Unfortunately, the image displayed on the screen appears at a lower resolution than on the screen of the iPhone 4/4S terminals, but you have more space for the image and theoretically you can watch a movie on your smartphone in peace. I don't know to what extent the keyboard implemented in the dock can be used, but at CES 2012 the product will be officially presented and then we will find out more about it. LightPad is an interesting device, the concept is borrowed from Motorola and its Atrix, but it's good that it exists.
