Dragon TV launched by the company Nuance

Nuance is the company whose voice recognition system is used by Apple with its Siri personal assistant. Although it has been rumored for several months that Apple would launch a TV that could be controlled by voice commands, here is Nuance has launched today Dragon TV. Dragon TV is a platform that can be implemented in televisions or devices similar to Apple TV and would allow users to use voice commands to change the channel to search for multimedia content in various specialized stores.

The Dragon TV platform will be made available to OEMs and service operators who can choose to integrate the technology into TVs, set-top boxes, remote control and other applications. However, the company did not announce any launch partners for the product, only its availability.

Moreover, Dragon TV allows users to write emails, chat on Twitter/Facebook or start video calls via Skype. The platform is not yet available on the market, but Nuance will offer it to its partners in the near future. Although a possible Apple TV will not clearly mention that it will use Dragon TV, the implementation of the system is almost certain considering that one from Nuance already exists in Siri. Practically everything that will be presented through Dragon TV will be partly available in a possible television manufactured by Apple.
