Tonight Chronic Dev Team released a new version of the Absinthe jailbreak program with which we can do untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 tablet. The new version of Absinthe solves some problems with performing the jailbreak and loading the payload on Windows , brings support for Mac OS X 10.5 PPC and Intel CPU and that's it. The new versions of the program must not be run over an existing jailbreak and you can't do this anyway because the solution was specially designed not to allow the jailbreak to be restored.
Here is the changelog for Absinthe 0.4:
- Mac: added support for OSX 10.5, PPC and Intel CPU
- added consistency check on startup to make sure required files are in place
- Windows: fixed bug in payload generator that might cause a crash
