Apple interested in buying screens for its new TV

For several months now, rumors have been circulating on the Internet indicating that Apple is preparing the launch of a new TV model, and it seems that certain manufacturers of TV screens they would have been contacted by Apple for the formation of partnerships. This is not the first information obtained regarding Apple's interest in building a television and of course its partners will be from Asia, the geographical area where most screens are produced for both mobile terminals and for televisions or laptop monitors/ PCs.

Piper Jaffray's Gene Munster told investors on Tuesday that he had recently spoken to a "major TV component supplier" about Apple's rumored plans to release a connected HDTV. Sources within the supplier reportedly told him that Apple had contacted "regarding various capabilities of their television display components." Munster said he viewed the news as "continued evidence that Apple is exploring the production of a television." Prior evidence that the analyst claims to have gathered surrounding an Apple television includes January 2011 meetings in Asia that suggested Apple was investing in manufacturing facilities for LCD displays as large as 50 inches and a September 2011 meeting with a "contact close to an Asian supplier" who claimed prototypes of an Apple set are in the works.

Unfortunately, it is not known when Apple could launch this new TV nor how it could change the industry, but there are increasingly obvious signs that Apple is building it. The latest rumors about the TV built by Apple indicate that it could come with a modified version of iOS and with the Siri personal assistant that would allow the execution of voice commands. Appel would also offer subscriptions for TV shows or TV series, but for now everything is in the rumor stage.
