Dash is a new device that is part of a project that is waiting for funding on the Kickstarter.com website and that should replace the audio system of your car. Dev0ium Dash is composed of two pieces: the main one which is mounted in the car instead of the radio and which is capable of providing 4x50w to the speakers plus AUX in and video out for an external monitor mounted in the car; the second is a case for smartphones in which we can currently mount an iPhone terminal and use it to listen to music, watch a movie, send messages, use the function, GPS, practically anything.

Dash, patent pending, is the convergence of the car stereo and your smartphone. Today's smartphones provide a level of connectivity, accessibility, and usability that has not been possible in the car audio market. Dash doesn't require that you learn a new interface to use your stereo. You already know how to use your phone to access your music, your navigation app, your phone calls, and the incredible number of other apps in your phone's marketplace. While phones are very personal devices, people get new ones every few years. You may remain loyal to the same brand or move to a new company. No matter how frequently you update your phones, Dash will be there ready to support you. Our innovative interchangeable faceplate design allows you to keep your phone at the center of your car.

Dash takes control of your car's audio system but also of any monitors installed in it and offers it to an iPhone terminal from which content is displayed on all of them. The video clip above explains the whole process and you notice that a smartphone becomes the "brain" of your car and through it you can control the multimedia content played in the car. Dash for now raised half of the money it needs to be financed, but the device itself costs around $250, so it could not be purchased by anyone.
