redsn0w 0.9.10 beta 5c released by Dev Team

During this evening the Dev Team released the beta version 5c of the redsn0w 0.9.10 jailbreak program with which we can jailbreak iDevices on iOS 5.0.1. This version solves some problems that appeared during the construction of custom ramdisks for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G, so if you have already jailbroken, you have nothing to fear because you will not be affected. The Dev Team is constantly improving the redsn0w program to provide users with the best possible experience during the jailbreak process.

Updates #5b and #5c:  Version b5b fixes an issue with using custom ramdisks on iPhone3G and iPod2G, and version b5c prevents redsn0w from crashing due to the ever-growing ramdisk size :).

redsn0w 0.9.10 beta 5c can be installed from here; Windows, Mac OS X.

UPDATE: For some, this version of redsn0w causes a respring loop that can only be solved with restarts, so it would be better not to use it at the moment.

  1. @zaone I have an iPhone 4 16gb bought a year or so ago with iOS 5.0.1 and jailbroken with redsn0w 0.9.10b1 and I want to say that, since I updated and jailbroken, the system runs very hard (I mean scrolling pages from the homescreen where I lag every time, to the keyboard which also has a huge lag, etc.). Have you encountered this problem before? Do you know how I could solve it? Do you think that if I jailbreak with the latest version from redsn0w, I have any chance to solve the huge lag in my iDevice?

  2. zaone .. I also have a question ... I jailbroken (5.0.1 bb 4.10.01) I installed corona ... and sometimes when I restart it .. the image appears and then it resprings .. and so on .. and I'm going to reset it .. and it does this thing quite often .. can you explain it to me?:D

  3. @Tudor

Yes? does it stop respringing at some point? or did you do something to stop him? that I only managed to make him close completely; when I opened it, he took it all over again.

at some point I got bored to keep waiting, so I made a custom ipsw with Pwnage Tool and made jb like this

  4. I have the same problems with ios 5 and jb lag on iphone 4. So far I have not found any solution to stop it being laggy. On ios 4 it was much faster

  5. Hello, I have an ip 4S and I updated the software and it doesn't work anymore, it shows me a full signal but actually it has no signal, only after I restart it it works for a while and then it's the same again 🙁 can you help me with some advice please, I don't know what to do with him. Thank you in advance.

  6. @Tudor, Nemo: Then it's very possible that it's a problem with redsn0w.
@Vilcu Radu, Tavutzu95: It's normal for your iPhone to work harder on 5.0.1 than on 4.2.1, they are different versions of iOS and 5.0.1 has many more new things that affect performance. If you include the jailbreak, you get what you experience.
@ Ana-Maria: Did you put a backup from 5.0 after the restore?

  7. Yesterday I also suffered a respring loop on my iPad 2 (it froze, and I gave it a restart). A restart fixed the problem 😀 I didn't see it again after that. Maybe the reason is that I moved a Daemon (the one that deals with crashes).

  8. Speaking of lag zaone, I went to vodafone and got a 4s. Naturally, it didn't have a jailbreak. I was amazed to see that when I entered the music application, in coverflow mode, there was a huge lag when scrolling through the albums... I closed all the applications and tried again... The same. I thought this problem was because my 3GS has old hardware, but it's an iOS5 bug. I am disappointed because I use the phone a lot for music and, in the music player, there is lag, or the song is interrupted sometimes... I am very disappointed because from ios 3.1 to ios 4.3.5, the music application was perfect

  9. I also noticed this, when you control the Music player from the Lockscreen with those buttons of Play, Forward, etc., when you change the song, it takes about 2 seconds to change it, and the cover of the song appears and disappears, then it appears again.
