IERI (Yesterday) Apple announced OS X Mountain Lion and one of the functions implemented in the new operating system is the possibility to do AirPlay Mirroring directly from your Mac. The function has existed in iOS for more than a year, but now it also works on Mac, but only with the help of an Apple TV. The video clip above demonstrates how everything works and you notice that the Apple TV is streaming in 720p format due to some hardware limitations, but on a closer look you notice that there is a slight lag between the movements displayed on the Mac and those displayed on the screen.

An Apple TV costs $99 in Apple's online store and OS X Mountain Lion is only available to Mac app developers.
