Apple puts on sale the first iPhones manufactured in Brazil

A few weeks ago we told you that Foxconn, the Apple partner that assembles our iPhones, decided to build a factory in Brazil where it will assemble iDevices for Apple. After several months of construction and arrangement, here it is recently were put into circulation the first iPhone terminals manufactured by Foxconn in Brazil. The devices are sold by Apple both in online stores and in physical stores, and for now we are only talking about iPhone 4 8 GB terminals because the iPhone 4S is only manufactured in China.

The problem in Brazil is that iPhones were available at very high prices because the Brazilian government imposed very high taxes on electronic products sold in that country but manufactured in other countries. The iPhone 4S arrived in Brazil at the price of $1400 and the iPhone 4 8 GB at the price of $1050. Although Apple now sells iPhones manufactured in Brazil, their price has remained unchanged and no one seems to know why for now. It would have been logical for Apple to lower the price, but this did not happen and it is very likely that the taxes charged by the Brazilian government are to blame.
