An American judge forces Motorola to provide information about the sale to Google plus the Android OS development process

Apple vs. Motorola

During the last evening, a judge of a court in Chicago gave a decision by which he obliges the Google and Motorola companies to give Apple access to the documentation regarding the acquisition of Motorola Mobility by Google. That's not all because a division of Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. must provide Apple with access to the documentation regarding the development of the Android OS operating system. The decision comes as part of a lawsuit filed by Apple in 2010 against those from Motorola, and the documents in question would provide those from Apple with the necessary evidence to support their claims in court.

Google Inc. and a Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. (MMI) unit were ordered by the US judge presiding over an Apple Inc. (AAPL) patent lawsuit to turn over information about the development of Google's Android operating system. The Motorola Mobility unit and Google must also hand over to Apple information about Google's pending $12.5 billion acquisition of the mobile-phone maker, US Circuit Judge Richard A. Posner in Chicago ruled yesterday. Posner's decision came in a patent lawsuit filed in 2010 by Cupertino, California-based Apple against Motorola Mobility, which has countersued. "The Android/Motorola acquisition discovery is highly relevant to Apple's claims and defenses," Apple's attorneys said in a March 2 filing requesting the judge's order.

Google will spend no less than 12.5 billion dollars for the acquisition of the mobile division of the Motorola company and although it was rumored that the patents would have been the main reason for this acquisition, here is that in the end the Google company could get much less than its would have liked Until now those patents they helped block iCloud in Germany si when the iDevices are temporarily removed from sale in the same country but now Apple can block the sale of Motorola terminals and can even order their destruction but only in Germany.

Finally, Apple will see the details of the acquisition of the Motorola company plus the future plans regarding the development of Android OS within Motorola.
