After the update to iOS 5.1, many of the Americans who own iPhone 4S terminals have noticed that their devices display 4G connectivity in the status bar. AT&T has this type of active network in the USA, but the iPhone 4S terminal is not compatible with it, it can connect to HSPA+ networks and is capable of reaching speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps. The display of this indicator for Americans is a marketing move and nothing more, because there the HSPA+ networks on which speeds of up to 21 Mbps can be reached are called 4G by the mobile operators.
