61% of iDevices reportedly have iOS 5.1 installed already

iOS 5.1 is the latest version of the iOS operating system and on March 7, Apple officially released it to all iDevice owners. In just 15 days after the launch of the new operating system, over 61% of iDevice owners would have updated and we are talking about an extremely high adoption rate. The information comes from a developer who takes the statistics from his applications that are downloaded 100.000 times a week, so theoretically we should have a somewhat representative set of data in front of us.

The interesting part is that iOS 5.1 convinced many users with iOS 4.x/5.x to update and if we are talking about those who have the possibility to update OTA then no less than 77% of them have installed the new version of iOS. The adoption rate seems to be high, but the information only covers a few hundred thousand downloads and there are several million iDevices in the world, but things seem to be very good for Apple.
