Excessive charging of the new iPad tablet could affect the longevity of the battery

Last week we told you that iOS incorrectly displays the battery charge level of the new iPad tablet and that in reality the device it charges for another two hoursit's after the iOS will tell you that it is fully charged. Based on this information, those from CNBC contacted Apple to get clarification on the impact that overcharging has on the battery and learned that the battery's longevity could be affected over time. They say that Apple would have recognized the fact that even with the iPad 2 tablet there would be a problem with the incorrect display of the battery charge level, but that iOS is designed to tell us when the battery is sufficiently charged to provide an autonomy of 10 hours and that excessive charging is harmful.

Apple is saying when it reads 100% the battery indicator reads 100%. It's actually full enough to give you the kind of performance that they promise in their marketing. That's ten hours of all-day battery life. They say if you charge it more than that, you could harm the longevity of the battery. So they say this isn't just an issue with the new iPad. It was an issue with the previous ones well but this battery is 70% bigger so you're more likely to notice it.

So far, Apple has not officially provided details on the effects of charging the battery even after iOS says that it is fully charged, and it probably won't, so all you have to do is believe or not believe what say those from CNBC. It is very likely that in the following days we will see various opinions related to the excessive charging of the battery and the effects it can have.
