Future Ubisoft games will allow us to continue on the iPad a game started on the iPhone

iOS 5 gives game developers the opportunity to include iCloud compatibility in their titles and the option to upload game saves directly to Apple's system. The system is very good and those from Ubisoft implement a similar one called UPlay that will allow us to save our progress in the game, but not with iCloud but with the company's servers. The interesting part of this system is that if we have the game installed on several iDevices synchronized to the same Ubisoft account, then we will be able to start a game on an iPad tablet and continue it on an iPhone. The idea is extremely interesting and for now not applied in other games, although many allow saving progress at least with the help of iCloud.

"I think that is a huge issue and I personally can't stand it where I have to do something over again," Chris Early, head of digital at Ubisoft told us in a one-to-one briefing when he visited the UK. "We have a cloud-based storage system for that data for you."

"As a player, I absolutely hope that game saves across multiple devices will be like this in the future. From an Ubisoft perspective, yes they will," he added.

The first game in which we will implement this system is Ghost Recon: Commander and would have been interested if it had worked on several platforms for mobile terminals, it would have allowed us to start a game on an Android terminal and continue it on an iDevice. For now, this is far from reality, but the UPlay system from Ubisoft promises to be extremely interesting. Ghost Recon: Commander should be available in the near future in the App Store and will set a new standard for game producers, but it is not known how many will be willing to implement it in their own titles, although they should.
