Apple is developing an application that will allow us to make 3D avatars on the iPad

In the archive of the US patent and trademark office was discovered an invention patent that was initially registered in 2010 and that presents an iPad application that allows us to make 3D avatars. It is not known for sure why Apple built this application, but it is related to Game Center and was present in the beta versions of iOS 4, although it seems that it has not yet officially arrived in the operating system of those from Apple. Using the application we will be able to make a virtual image of ourselves for Game Center or any other games/applications that will want to use it, but only if Apple decides to launch it officially.

Earlier today we introduced Apple's 3D Avatar App which covered a basic overview of the new application in the works. Now a second patent application has surfaced and it actually shows that the app is already running on an iPad! We have the screenshot to prove it. The new patent application focuses on how the app will work with color palettes and more. The big news however is that the new 3D Avatar App is in its final stages of development and that's very cool. Evidently phase-one of the application is geared for the younger crowd, but other editions could be in the works as discussed in our first report today.

It would be interesting to see such animated 3D avatars in Game Center and it would be interesting for them to be synchronized with a chat system that takes over our movements while talking. There are ideas for using these avatars, but since Apple has decided that it is not the time for them to appear in iOS, then probably the infrastructure necessary for its use would not be fully developed at the moment. Those who discovered the application say that it would have entered the last stages of the development process and that it would be launched in the near future.

In what situations would you use such an application?
