A month ago I told you that the developer of an application called Voice Answers fails to bring his title to the App Store because Apple does not allow him to do so. Well, after no less than 3 months of negotiations with the company's representatives from Cupertino, Voice Answers is finally available for download starting today. The application offers a functionality similar to that of Siri, but presents the information in a slightly more pleasant interface, but does not interact with third-party applications in any way. Many of the functions of the application were removed in order for Apple to allow its publication in the App Store, so if the company's engineers had not intervened, it would have looked completely different.
Voice Answer gives answers on many topics. You can ask your question either by talking to it or typing it out, and the app will answer you in a clear voice. The knowledge base behind the app contains 'Wolfram Alpha', which gives you an enormous amount of information in your pocket.
Voice Answers offers answers to questions based on the information provided by Wolfram Alpha and other similar services, but for now the application is quite rudimentary, but its developers promise to improve it in the near future. The application now works on any iDevice with iOS 4.2.1 installed and will soon allow you to perform searches using our location, allow you to send emails and have an animated robot that will answer your questions, but only if Apple will allow this thing. Voice Answers is currently not a viable alternative to Siri and the price of €2.99 does not recommend it for purchase, but maybe things will change in the future.
