Our iDevices are extremely versatile and they are used in the most diverse ways, but rarely does a project appear that is unusual but extremely interesting. This category includes the presented by me today, because with its help you can find out when someone is looking for you at home, but you can also find out what that person looks like. A developer managed to connect the doorbell of his own house to the Internet and to a web camera mounted in front of his door, and when a person activates the doorbell, he is alerted by a Push notification and receives a picture of the visitor by email.

The whole system uses an Arduino microcontroller, the PushingBox software and a web camera, and in the video clip above you have demonstrated how everything works. The idea is extremely interesting and we practically have a home surveillance system that is extremely cheap and as useful as those that cost several thousand/tens of thousands of euros. More details about the project, but also about how you can build something like this, find here.
