Meta Watch – a smart watch that connects to your iPhone

A few weeks ago I told you that a Kickstarter project called Pebble promises to bring us a smart watch that can connect to the iPhone and interact with it through special applications. That project was funded, a few million dollars were collected for it, but in the meantime a similar device appeared on the market, right before Pebble. Meta Watch is called this product and in essence we are talking about a smart watch that allows us to interact with our iDevices, but in a rather rudimentary way.

Meta Watch works only with iPhone 4S and iPad 3 because it benefits from Bluetooth 4.0 technology and it is the only one that allows such interconnection with iDevices, and only the 2 previously mentioned have implemented it. If you buy the watch, then with the help of an application from the App Store you can select to display notifications for missed calls, for unread messages and that's about it. The interesting part is that developers who buy the watch will have access to a special API that will allow them to interact however they want with the iOS application, so the functionality can be extended.

The watch is available for $199 to interested developers, but it remains to be seen if it will attract at least as many people as the Pebble.
