Apple could integrate Baidu into the list of default search engines of iOS 6

A few weeks ago there were speculations that the Baidu search engine would be included among the default web search engines of iOS 6, and now we learn new information regarding this collaboration between Apple and the Chinese giant. Baidu is the largest web search engine in China, a country where Google has a small market share, and Apple seems to be interested in giving the Chinese what they need, ie Baidu instead of Google.

A representative of Baidu would have stated that iOS 6 will have the Chinese search engine integrated, but of course no one officially confirms this move. Basically in China Safari could automatically search through Baidu and not through Google, but from the iOS settings menu users can choose the search engine they want. Even so, the collaboration between Google and Baidu is seen as an attempt by those from Apple to distance themselves from the giant from Mountain View, and the reality is not that far from the rumors.

We will find out whether Baidu will arrive in iOS 6 or not at WWDC 2012, during the summer or in the winter, but it is clear that Apple is slowly starting to give up on Google.
