The analyst who informed us that Apple would launch an iPhone 5 with a 4.08-inch screen and 1136 x 640 resolution offers new information about the rooms of the new terminal. He says the device will have a frontal HD camera that would be repositioned above the speaker, it would use the OV9772 image sensor produced by Omnivision, it would have the optical format 1/6″, 1.75 um, aperture f/2.4, CCM 6mm and TTL 4.8 mm. As for the iPhone 5, it would keep the 8 megapixel camera and the same IMX 105 image sensor produced by Sony which will have the optical format 1/3″, 1.4 um, f/2.2 aperture, CCM 5.55mm and TTL 4 mm. What we see here represents a significant improvement compared to the cameras of the current terminals, but it remains to be seen whether Apple will use them or not.
Probably more interesting than that is the fact that the iPhone 5 would be only 7.9 mm thick. Until now, not much has been heard about the thickness of the future terminal, but it seems that it would be thinner than the current iPhone 4/4S, but it would not be the thinnest smartphone in the world. The changes are announced to be extremely interesting and the improvement of an existing camera is all that users need, considering that the higher number of megapixels would not help anything.
