The turn-by-turn navigation system of the Maps application in iOS 6 will only work on iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and iPad 3

Have you been looking forward to Apple's turn-by-turn navigation system? If so, then I have some bad news for those who do not own an iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and iPad 3. According to Apple's website, this navigation system will only be available for those 3 devices and for the future ones that will be launched this year and next year. No other iDevice released before the iPad 2 will be compatible with this system and I don't think Apple will change anything because the iPhone 5 will be released in the fall and the company will have to sell many devices.

Some features may not be available in all countries or all areas. Flyover and turn-by-turn navigation will be available only on iPhone 4S and iPad 2 or later. Cellular data charges may apply.

Last night I told you that even the FlyOver system, the 3D map display function, will only work on the 3 devices, so if you don't have one of them you won't be able to benefit from all the new features of the Maps application. There is a possibility that through jailbreak we can get access to those functions, but for now nothing is known for sure. If you want to find out how the Maps application from iOS 6 is doing in front of Google Maps, then I recommend it to read this article.
