For several months, we have been presented with an idea according to which Apple will finally give up the 30-pin connector port of the iPhone with a smaller one, which would have only 19 pins. In the image below you can see a potential case iPhone 5 which has a new slot for the connector port and the final device would look exactly the same. Those from contribute to the long series of rumors TechCrunch who claim that three different sources from within the Apple company confirm that the new terminal would indeed have this connector model and we are talking here about an important change, considering that until recently all iDevices had the same USB connector model .

Although the form factor and actual size are still unknown, TechCrunch has independently verified that Apple is working on adding a 19-pin port, replacing the current 30-pin port, to the new iPhone. It is a move that will surely send shocks through the iPhone accessory ecosystem. The new port, partially shown in this Mobilefun post as well as in this video, is similar in size to the Thunderbolt port available on many MacBook devices but I've been told by three independent manufacturers that the pin-out will be different.

The new connector resembles the Thunderbolt ones implemented by Apple in Macs, but the actual configuration of the internal components is different, so a Thunderbolt cable cannot be used to connect an iDevice to a Mac. In conclusion, this connector port will be presented as a new, and probably important, feature of the iPhone 5, but I hope that Apple will have other important changes ready.
