Fleksy knows what you want to write even if you misspell the words (Video)

Fleksy is the project of a virtual keyboard that aims to improve the way blind people write. If you watch the video clip above, you will notice that it all boils down to an iOS application that uses the Accessibility system, but also a predictive API that is able to "guess" the words that users are going to write. The developers of the project claim that everything is so advanced that users can type wrong words because the application will correctly recognize what they want to say and the demonstration above should be quite convincing.

Fleksy allows visually impaired users to type text on the familiar keyboard layout, by tapping on the screen. Our patent pending technology does not need accuracy – just tap on the screen and Fleksy will automatically detect the text you meant to enter – even if you have missed every single key. It is like nothing you have used before. Fleksy lets you send the text as an SMS message, or as an email, or to copy the text to use in another app on your phone.

Fleksy uses a new predictive system that is to be patented by its developer and for now it is limited only to writing messages or emails. To be honest, Fleksy seems to be a very interesting project, now it remains to be seen how it will end up in the App Store.
