iOS 6 Maps vs Google Maps for Android – 3D module comparison

You all know that Apple launched a new map system in iOS 6 and I won't go into details, but I present a comparison made between the 3D modules of Google Maps for Android OS and iOS 6 Maps. a Italian blog thought to make this comparison since Google has updated the application for Android and strongly praises its map system, and in the images in this article you have everything presented. You can notice that the images presented by Apple in its 3D mode seem to be more real and more accurate than those made by Google, and I for one expected it to be the other way around.

Although Apple seems to offer better quality for the image of the locations, unfortunately its 3D module does not have many areas on the globe mapped, so in the absence of anything else you have to use Google Maps.

  1. They won't allow it on iOS, especially if Apple doesn't offer offline on its map.

But I think they will launch google maps in the app store after iOS 6 comes out and I will buy one.

  2. How good the maps application looks, the interface next to that of ios. Damn. I hope Apple does something because we have been bored with the same unchanged design in these 6 years. ios 7 - I hope it will be groundbreaking, not like ios6 or 5.2 as everyone calls it

  3. on google you can see how the buildings were placed over a 2D image (especially at the golden gate, or around a building). But let's be serious, who chooses a device based on its 3D map capabilities?

  4. honestly, everything from google maps seems better to me. The first picture on ios is crumpled so that I don't talk about the colosseum where only 3d is not on ios... and the next picture of the colosseum looks like cabbage on ios. At the opera house sydney, although it is closer on ios, we can still see the waves as they appear on android. The one with the bridge knocks down only because it is seen closer, but again I sit and think if it is possible to zoom on android!?

  5. Apple should have thought first about mapping as accurately as possible and then about unnecessary things. They gave up Maps. OK. But we want another map system that flies.
