In the USA, iDevices sold better than Android terminals in the last 3 months

Although those from Google boasted that they activated no less than 300 million iDevices in a single year for days, it seems that in the US the popularity of the platform does not generate as many sales as in the past. Those from Comscore presented their forecasts for the second fiscal quarter of 2012 and it seems that iOS had a higher growth than Android OS in the US. More precisely, the Android OS had an increase of only 0.8% between February and May 2012, while the iOS had an increase of 1.7%, and this says a lot about the preferences of the Americans.

Apple cannot claim first place with a closed platform, but the increase is important because it comes a few months after the launch of the iPhone terminal, the company's most popular product. The increase can be attributed to the iPad 3 tablet which was sold in several million copies in the US and around the world, but we must not forget the fact that new Android tablets and smartphones have arrived on the American market. In the following weeks, Apple and the rest of the mobile terminal manufacturers are going to announce the financial results for Q2 2012, and then we will learn more about the sales of each.
