MultiStorey allows you to expand the space in which applications are displayed in the iOS task switcher

MultiStorey is a tweak released during this night in Cydia, and with its help we can double the space in which the applications and control options of our iDevices are displayed through the iOS task switcher. Basically, installing the tweak will add a second row in the task switcher in iOS, and in that second row there were either applications or settings that were normally available in different pages of the task switcher. The tweak not only doubles the space in the task switcher, but also adds the option to change the functionality of the slider with which you change the volume in iOS.

Compatible with iPhone, iPod and iPad. iOS 5.1.1 tested. MultiStorey is a small tweak that serves its purpose effectively with no unnecessary bells and whistles. Adding extra real-estate to the app-switcher in the form of another row of icons, switching apps becomes far easier and faster with a lot less scrolling involved. MultiStorey also unifies the use of the app-switcher between devices as there is now simply one page to the left, the 'auxiliary' page, whether iPhone, iPod or iPad. On iPhone/iPod the slider located in that page can be easily toggled between volume and brightness by tapping the slider glyph.

Making smart use of the newly available space without overdoing it, it also made sense to add an artist label above the currently playing track. Soon enough, you'll realize how cramped the original app-switcher felt!

MultiStorey is available for free in Cydia and works on iOS 5.1.1 with all iDevices.
