A new type of Mac malware threatens the OS X platform

Just a few months after the whole scandal looking the Flashback malware, here's how a new type of malware attacks Apple's OS X. Company F-Secure provides details about this new type of malware that must be installed by users in their own Macs, so we are not talking about the possibility of infecting you without taking any action regarding the malware. Basically, the malware is hidden in an archive that, after installation, runs the installation code, after which it connects to the hackers' server and offers full access to your Mac and executes any code it wants.

The interesting part of this new malware lies in the fact that it is specially made for OS X, Windows and Linux, after installation it is able to detect the operating system it is running on. Considering that the malware does not install itself, there are no great reasons for concern, but we have another proof of the fact that hackers are more and more interested in the OS X platform.
