Apple will offer adapters for the new iPhone 5 connector port

I told you in the morning that the new iPhone 5 will contain a 19-pin connector port according to some sources close to Apple who spoke with the journalists of the famous publication Reuters. The port will look exactly like in the picture above and it will make a good part of the accessories currently sold on the market incompatible. Even though some battery cases will not work with iPhone 5, Apple will provide users with an adapter which will allow you to use cables and docks that have old connector ports.

While this seems like it should have been filed in the obvious drawer, because of all the questions we've been getting, and posts we've been seeing, iMore reached out to the original sources that gave us the new Dock connector story way back in February just to make doubly sure — and yes, there will be an adapter for the iPhone 5's smaller Dock connector that will let it work with many of the accessories designed for the old 30-pin Dock connector.

We haven't heard if one will be included in the box along with the iPhone 5, or will only be sold separately, but either way, come October, you'll be able to get a new-to-old Dock adapter from Apple .

Unfortunately, there is a possibility that Apple will sell this connector separately from the accessories available in the iPhone 5 box, so we will probably have to spend 10/15€ to buy it, or maybe Apple will think that it would be good to offer something for free having considering that the profit made from the iPhone is huge. Regardless of the form in which the adapter will reach the market, it is certain that we will have it.
