Yahoo! consider purchasing an iPhone for each employee

Yahoo!, one of the largest companies in the world, take into consideration the purchase of an iPhone for each of its employees. The reason? The company wants that inside Yahoo! there should be consistency regarding the devices used by employees. The new CEO of Yahoo!, Marissa Mayer, was one of the vice presidents of Google, but even when she was employed there she used an iPhone terminal, and now she wants all the employees of Yahoo! to use such a device daily.

A source familiar with Mayer's thinking tells us the reason she wants everyone to use an iPhone is to "get consistency across the company." Apparently, Yahoo employees use all sorts of different devices – BlackBerrys, iPhones, Androids, whatever – and Mayer believes the company would be better off if it identified one device/platform on which it should make its products really shine, and got employees used to what it's like living with that platform.

The move by the CEO of Yahoo! it comes against the background of the decrease in popularity of the BlackBerry platform, which was the most popular within the company, but also of the proximity to the iPhone. For Yahoo! The investment would be only a few million dollars, but in the long term the benefits would be great, considering that iOS is becoming more and more popular among users of the company's services.
