Samsung will sue Apple if the iPhone 5 will be compatible with 4G LTE networks

iPhone 5 it has not yet appeared on the market, but those from Samsung are ready to sue Apple if the device will be compatible with networks LTE 4G. Last year those from Samsung did the same when the iPhone 4S was released, the Koreans filed lawsuits in several European states, losing all actions. The problem was that Apple bought baseband chips from companies that had licensed Samsung's technologies plus the right to sublicense them, so Apple was protected, but Samsung probably wanted some publicity.

Samsung confirmed that it will immediately sue Apple if the latter releases products using advanced long-term evolution (LTE) mobile technology. LTE has been emerging as the top standard in the global mobile industry.

Now the Koreans announce that they will also attack iPhone 5 if the device will work on 4G LTE networks, the company putting its patents for this type of technology to the test. I'm sure that Apple anticipated this move and would not have unnecessarily exposed itself to the possibility of being stuck with terminals in customs, so it probably bought licenses or products for which there is already the possibility of offering a sublicense. I think that Samsung is just looking for publicity in this case, I think that the chances of blocking an iPhone 5 because it works on 4G LTE networks are slim and I think that Samsung is spending a lot of money when it could be investing in research.

  1. I could, but it's just bullshit. Not even the one from antenna 1 presented it as a joke or as valid news. It's one thing to make some comical images and make fun of something, it's another to write nonsense.

  2. Yes, I also read this news on a website from the States and it amused me terribly, they have sent 30 shots so far, I don't know what the laws are in America, but are they allowed to make such large cash payments in one day?

  3. But it would be nice to pay like that.
It's a pity that Gene Roddenbery is no longer there to sue Apple for copying the iPad after the tablets used by the crew of the USS Enterprise!

  4. @Gigel fanboy?! Apple infringes important patents, not round corners. .. Samsung must ask for at least one billion dollars for something like this

  5. @IM Back is a theft of the latest technology, and of money in the case that Samsung would win, I think it depends on the number of iPhones sold

  6. @Zaone: how to invest in research? :)) – I laughed heartily. They only know how to copy inventions. And for those who have something against apple: it's very difficult to INVENT something! To create something that does not exist. Instead, getting inspired by something existing and just modifying it, obviously based on inspiration from other teachings, is very easy!
