AirBridge aims to connect your iDevice to the TV very simply and easily (Video)

AirBridge is a KickStarter project that aims to allow users to transfer images from the screen of an iDevice to that of a TV or projector in the simplest possible way. Now we can do the exact same thing using an Apple TV, though AirBridge brings a simpler and easier to use system. If in the case of Apple TV we need a Wi-Fi network to do AirPlay Mirroring on a TV, in the case of AirBridge this is done without a Wi-Fi network and the good part is that you can transmit the image from an iDevice to several TVs at the same time.

This is airbridge. It's a plug-n-play device that allows cordless iOS mirroring. In English, that means that when you snap the airbridge handheld piece to your iPhone or iPad, and plug the base station into a TV or projector – your screen will show exactly what's happening on your device. No app or setting configuration. No networks. No power needed. No wires keeping you tethered to a screen. That simple. And you don't even have to be giving a presentation to use airbridge – imagine killing pigs, chopping fruit, racing F1 cars, or creating content in your favorite app – all in Full HD, lossless sound, no lagging and on-the- go.

Although both solutions work wirelessly, in the case of the AirBridge we have to use an accessory that attaches to the 30-pin port of our iDevice, this being the only inconvenience. Both Apple TV and AirBridge display the content at the same Full HD resolution, with sound and without lag, so it is up to everyone to choose what they think is best. In general, everything that the accessory offers is as interesting as possible, and the fact that it connects to a projector should be an important bonus for many.

What if there is no TV or projector, or somebody in your audience wants to view your presentation on their device without having to squint or crane their neck? There's an app for that. airbridge devices can stream your presentation over WiFi (AirBridge Pro will even make one when there's none) to other iOS devices, with or without a screen connected. App users can take a snapshot and write out some notes if they want to, and store those snapshots for later review; or even record the presentation to a video file. Pretty handy, huh?

For now, AirBridge is far from being funded, but it has enough time to collect the money it needs.

  1. Very cool. I can't wait for it to hit the market. I buy it immediately. I have a samsung smart tv, and I can't connect to it, except to see pictures or upload a video. I would love to be able to do everything this device does. To play games...etc

  2. How does Apple TV not connect to projectors? If the projector has an hdmi plug, then I don't see what the problem would be, and if it doesn't, then there are a number of hdmi-vga adapters on the market that can do this.

  3. Very interesting product. I was really thinking yesterday that I can't stream from the iPad to the TV at the iTunes Festival concerts because I don't have the necessary device.
