Apple and HTC are in discussions for an amicable end to the legal battles

HTC and Apple have opened several lawsuits in the courts of various countries around the world, but the two companies the gate and discussions for the amicable resolution of disputes. Representatives of the two companies held discussions in August of this year, but they did not reach an agreement, but the good part is that they will continue to discuss until the point where they will either reach an agreement or give up. A spokesperson for HTC told the press in Taiwan that for now the company is not interested in concluding an agreement with Apple, but they are having these discussions because the ITC judges in the US asked them to take this step.

The private parties are involved in multiple litigations and have conducted settlement negotiations. The private parties have met to discuss potential resolution of the different litigations, including this Enforcement Proceeding, including during the week of August 13, 2012 and also more recently. Persons with the requisite settlement authority participated for each party. While the private parties did not reach a settlement, there is an understanding that the private parties will continue settlement discussions in the future. The private parties have made good-faith efforts to resolve this Enforcement Proceeding and will continue to do so.

There is a possibility that even Apple is not interested in concluding any agreement, but the companies must show that they are in good faith and that they are at least trying to reach an amicable agreement. The court that judges them, the US case, will mediate several meetings between the two companies, but Apple also had similar mediations with Samsung, and in the end it reached a trial that it won. Probably in the case of HTC, things will not be different, but it remains to be seen what the representatives of both companies will decide.
